BILT Powers Immersive, Mobile Electrical Training for Ensign College's First Vocational Program

SALT LAKE CITY — Ensign College celebrated the opening of its Vocational Technical Center on October 2 with the launch of its Residential Electrical Journeyman Certificate. The program’s curriculum is built on BILT training and delivered through the BILT app on smartphones and Apple Vision Pro.

Students follow interactive 3D instructions where they rotate, zoom, and replay steps while practicing on real residential electrical systems. That training already extends beyond Utah: BYU-Pathway centers in Cebu and Johannesburg are also using BILT on mobile devices and Apple Vision Pro, and the Lagos center uses the BILT mobile app.

“Without BILT’s vision we wouldn’t have gotten this far so quickly,” said Ensign College Vice President of Academics Tim Sloan. “They’ve helped us create a program that gives our students a way to see, practice, and master each skill at their own pace. It builds  confidence they can carry into their professional careers.”

Geofencing and secure access keys let institutions control who sees their curriculum and where, allowing each center to choose immersive labs or mobile-only delivery without changing the coursework.

In a 12-week electrical training program studied with Deloitte, students using BILT on Apple Vision Pro finished 24% faster, completed tasks 67% faster on average, eliminated reverse-polarity wiring errors, and retained three times as much content as with traditional instruction alone.
